It isn't essential to spend a fortune on an outfit, but a girl should always attempt to look striking, so not necessarily always glamorous, but sharp and smart does the trick, with just a hint of make up without slapping it all over. Just as a man likes to retain an air of mystery, a women too shouldn't divulge any more information about herself than is an absolute necessity in the early days of a relationship.

The old adage is it is a woman's right to be late, and this still holds true to a certain degree, but we are talking a few minutes here, not much more. If the first date goes well, don't seem too eager for the second even if secretly you are desperate for him to ask, because he almost certainly will and you do not want to seem in any way desperate. The real no go area is previous boyfriends; nothing will turn the date more sour than bringing up your past conquests, men just hate it.

Act interested in his chat, it might be that he is very nervous and once he relaxes the conversation may well improve, but equally you should provide some snippets yourself to keep the flow even. Just listening can be very enlightening, but you don't want to be seen as being uninteresting; let him see he's with a real catch. Mostly, it is just a case of common sense, but unfortunately, when it comes to dating that guy you have been chasing, common sense often goes out of the window.
